High-performing team leadership coaching and workshops in Wangaratta
In March 2023, the Academy of Raw Potential began working with the Leadership Team at Galen Catholic College in Wangaratta. This high-performing team leadership coaching was designed to strengthen team dynamics, enhance leadership capability, and align behaviours with the college’s core values.
The initial phase included HBDI (Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument) assessments and individual debriefs for each leadership team member, followed by five one-on-one coaching sessions. Two key workshops framed the experience: the first focused on exploring team HBDI results, evaluating leadership behaviours against the college’s values, and introducing the key attributes of a high-performing team. The final workshop unpacked the results of a team effectiveness survey, explored areas for growth, and saw the team make tangible commitments to future improvement.
The standout moment of the engagement was The Amazing Journey – a bespoke leadership challenge set throughout Wangaratta. The team was split into two groups and given instructions and tasks to complete across the town. Each challenge earned them bonus points and required collaboration, creativity, and courage. Teams had to document their progress through photos and videos, often involving members of the public and adapting to twists like team swaps and playful sabotage. Upon returning to school, the group reflected on their experience – initially filled with laughter, but eventually recognising how each challenge was crafted to test and reinforce the core elements of a high-performance team: trust, collaboration, peer support, and adaptability.
The experience created lasting impact, becoming a talking point among staff and students alike. Galen Catholic College has continued to re-engage the Academy of Raw Potential annually, reflecting their trust in the process and the enduring value of our leadership coaching and workshops.
